When designing a bedroom scheme, it’s important to select shades that will soothe your mind and promote relaxation. While neutrals are a popular choice to achieve an effortless, calming atmosphere, the colour pink offers a little more warmth, bringing beauty and character to bedroom walls.

Pink encompasses a vast spectrum of hues, from delicate porcelain to deep, dusky, romantic shades that envelop a space. Discover elegant bedrooms featuring pink hues from the Paint & Paper Library palette to inspire your own schemes…

Six elegant pink bedrooms

1. Pair Plaster V with Beetlenut

When planning your bedroom update, consider the style of space you want to achieve. You might prefer schemes that feel soft, classic and timeless, or a bolder more contemporary finish.

Using a contrasting yet complementary colour combination is a simple method of creating impact in your bedroom design. Plaster V is a sophisticated, earthy pink that provides a statement when paired with Beetlenut. For a striking look, take a proportional approach, embracing each shade on the upper and lower half of the walls.

2. Combine Ruse with Topi and Stone II

Pairing pink with coordinating neutrals can help to achieve an elegant, traditional feel. Ruse is the perfect background colour to exude warmth in your bedroom. With its diluted rose hue, it combines beautifully with soft pink furnishings to instil a sense of intimacy and comfort.

Use Ruse on all four walls of your bedroom, then paint the woodwork in a gentle warm neutral such as Topi. For your ceiling, consider a subtle off-white like Stone II, which will soften any harsh lines and achieve a harmonious finish.

3. Team Rouge II with The Botanist

For a scheme with personality and visual interest, utilise a classic, complementary colour combination like pink and green. This is one of the most-loved colour pairings, with a strong redolence of nature’s beauty and charm.

Depending on the shades chosen, a pink and green combination may feel quite vibrant, lively and playful. But – for those seeking a restful bedroom sanctuary – select shades with muted undertones. Rouge II and The Botanist are excellent choices here.

4. Use the peach-hued pink, Roben’s Honour

To achieve a soothing ambience, don’t feel you need to discount more vibrant pink shades. Roben's Honour has inviting brightness and warmth – a wonderful, comforting shade to incorporate on your bedroom walls, woodwork and ceiling.

Made using flake white and ochre, this peach-pink hue has an inherent earthiness which makes it easy to use all over. @retwiggdstylist has used Roben's Honour to provide a bold backdrop for statement artwork in her guest bedroom.

5. Embrace Mink on every surface

Pink-based neutrals are an excellent choice if you are aiming to create a warm, cocooning bedroom without moving too far away from classic neutral paint colours. Browse shades in the Powder Architectural Colours family, as well as deeper related pink hues from the Original Colours below.

@ourvictorianhome1875 chose Mink to create this tranquil, ambient bedroom. The use of one shade all over feels contemporary in style, whilst the bare wood floors and traditional artwork give the space a timeless quality.

6. Choose Aeonium wallpaper in the Temple colourway

Wallpaper is a classic choice for bedrooms, providing a simple way to elevate walls with a beautiful textural element. Paint & Paper Library’s wallpaper collection includes a selection of designs in soft pink colourways, ideal for a bedroom refresh.

Consider Aeonium, an all-over monochromatic design depicting the silhouettes of a subtropical aeonium flower. This elegant floral paper offers an opportunity to bring a natural motif into your bedroom, and the neutral pink Temple colourway provides a backdrop with understated warmth.
