Exploring @bo_decor’s spectacular home…
The home of Catherine from @bo_decor features a selection of shades from the Paint & Paper Library palette that envelop rooms with an extraordinary ambience.
We spoke to Catherine, to discuss her chosen palette and spectacular home.
What is your favourite space in your home and why?
“That’s a hard question as I have so many favourite spaces. If I had to choose, I would say my living room. It’s where you spend the most time. The dark, moody Sharkskin makes it feel cosy and cocooning and I love laying on the sofa staring out of the window at the beautiful nature.”
Discover Our Room InspirationDo you have any advice for transforming a space with darker hues?
“The most important and most transformative thing you can do when going dark is to paint everything in the same colour. This can be daunting at first but it’s incredible when you do, and whatever you then put in the room will look even more incredible. Painting the ceiling in the same shade makes it become a lot less noticeable, so it’s perfect if you have quite low ceilings like I have. I’m talking walls, ceiling, all woodwork, skirtings and radiators all in the same colour.”
Why did you choose Paint & Paper Library?
“I was recommended by someone to try Paint & Paper Library a few years ago. A lot of decorators and interior designers use it, so I thought it must be good. Also, they have a good choice of mid and dark-tone paints which is obviously what I am drawn to.
When I started using the paint, I noticed it was thicker and had a much better consistency than what I was used to, which covered so much better than other brands I have used. The choice of colours is amazing, especially the choice of dark colours.”
What is your most-loved Paint & Paper Library shade?
“My favourite colour is Heath, which I have used in my Guest Bedroom. The best thing about premium paints is it changes colour with the light throughout the day. Heath is a beautiful, dark, warm brown that’s so soft and buttery.
When the sun is shining in, it’s quite light and very soft, and it goes lovely and dark in the evening. At the time, I ordered a few samples and I loved them all, I just need a bigger home with more rooms! Other colours I would love to try are Charbone and Drakensburg.”
