You can also use varying sheen levels to introduce an element of textural contrast.

Low-sheen paint finishes for subtle contrast
If you prefer a low sheen finish, Architects’ Eggshell is suitable for painting all interior woodwork. Use this paint finish in different areas of the home including skirting boards, dado rails, furniture and bannisters.

Painting cabinets & woodwork
The Architects’ Finishes are self-priming on cabinetry and woodwork and require just two coats to complete your project. Before applying the paint, it is important to prepare the surface to ensure you achieve an exquisite finish with beautiful depth of colour.
Lightly sand the surface to create a key, then apply two coats of your chosen paint finish tinted to your selected Paint & Paper Library colour. Unlike oil-based alternatives, the water-based Architects’ formulas are simple to apply, quick to dry and they can be recoated in just four hours.
