Household woodwork is an excellent place to introduce colours that will elevate your scheme. Surfaces such as kitchen cabinets, skirting boards, dado rails, panelling and wooden furniture experience lots of everyday wear and tear. As such, it is equally important to choose a hardwearing paint finish that will withstand regular cleaning.

Multi-surface finishes for cabinetry and woodwork

The Architects’ finishes from Paint & Paper Library combine superior choice of colour with unparalleled toughness and durability. These innovative water-based formulations offer true multi-surface adhesion on virtually any surface. Use these paint finishes for wood, metal, tiles, and even Formica and plastics, without the need for a separate primer.

Durable paint finishes in every colour

Available in the complete Paint & Paper Library colour palette, these revolutionary finishes enable you to create coherent design schemes. The Architects’ range offers the best paint finish for kitchen cabinets, woodwork and every other surface in the home.

Choose a related colour to your walls for a coordinated feel, or a contrasting colour highlight for a bolder scheme. Alternatively, consider painting your woodwork and cabinetry in the same colour as your walls to create a wraparound effect. You can also use varying sheen levels to introduce an element of textural contrast.

High-gloss paint finishes for added contrast

For a highly contrasting finish, consider painting your cabinets in Architects’ Gloss. This gloss paint is tough, protective and delivers real impact with its reflective 80% sheen.

Architects’ Gloss works especially well with dark and sumptuous shades such as the rich crimson, Scarlet ‘N’ Rust. Accompany with soft Mink walls painted in the matt finish, Architects’ Matt, to create beautiful textural contrast that will enhance your kitchen scheme.

Low-sheen paint finishes for subtle contrast

If you prefer a low sheen finish, Architects’ Eggshell is suitable for painting all interior woodwork. Use this paint finish in different areas of the home including skirting boards, dado rails, furniture and bannisters.

This self-priming paint dries to a smooth low sheen of 10-20%. The result is a subtle yet protective finish on household woodwork and cabinetry. Architects’ Eggshell can complement walls in Architects’ Matt or Pure Flat Emulsion to achieve an all-over, colour-drenched scheme with a subtle contrast in texture.

Painting cabinets & woodwork

The Architects’ Finishes are self-priming on cabinetry and woodwork and require just two coats to complete your project. Before applying the paint, it is important to prepare the surface to ensure you achieve an exquisite finish with beautiful depth of colour.

Lightly sand the surface to create a key, then apply two coats of your chosen paint finish tinted to your selected Paint & Paper Library colour. Unlike oil-based alternatives, the water-based Architects’ formulas are simple to apply, quick to dry and they can be recoated in just four hours.
